PNP to LGUs: Invest in your PNP

By Ninfa B Quirante

Catbalogan City (December 9) -- Philippine National Police (PNP) Samar Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent Pepito Marigmen Pacada urged the Local Government Units (LGUs) to invest in the PNP.

In the first ever flag raising ceremony held at the Samar Police Provincial Office (PPO) attended by the newly installed PNP Director, Pacada repeated his earlier plea to LGUs.

He added he has been around some towns in his first week and has advocated for support from the LGUs.

So far, Pacada said that Motiong Mayor Francisco Langi has been receptive of his advocacy.

He added that he plans to make the rounds of all municipalities and cities in his Area of Responsibility and implored for support to PNP.

Meanwhile, he urged all the PNPs to abide by the morally transformed Mamang/Aling Pulis, for him discipline is the magic word that should spell everything to serve and protect.

He reiterated that no PNP in Samar should wear faded uniform because he said the PNP should be the mirror of the community.

He also said that out of 600 applicants for the police force only 150 are taken, if, he said it takes sacrifice to enter the police force then the commitment and dedication should be sustained.

His office he said will initiate trainings to transform the PNP into more effective and renewed PNP, this is a part of the Mamang Pulis Program which he said will modernize not only the personnel but also equipments and other hardware that the PNP needs to perform better.

The Integrated Transformation Program may last for 15 years and it may take some time before real change for the better is felt, he added.

But while the 'downloading' is not yet there, Pacada said he and his men will make do with what they have and will still deliver! (PIA-Samar) [top]
