CSC extends application deadline for CS exam

Davao City (12 February) -- Application for the March 29 Career Service Examination is extended until February 16.
Civil Service Commission (CSC XI) regional director Annabel Rossell announced the extension of the application to cater the non-passers of the November 2008 CS exam.
"This is done to give chance to those takers who did not pass in the previous exam an ample time to process their application since the exam results just came out last Monday." said Rossell.
CSC XI just released the results of the November 2008 exam. Data showed that only 9.14 percent of the total takers passed the professional and sub-professional exams.
Region XI catered 2,990 examinees, only 327 of the said number made it as career professionals.
Only 10 percent or 237 examinees passed the professional exam while 6.6 percent or 90 examinees made it in the sub-professional category.
The extension of the application is intended to encourage non-passers to take the next exam.
Applicants must accomplish the prescribed application form, bring four latest and identical passport size picture with a full name tag taken within three months before the date of filing.
Pictures that are scanned, photocopied or computer-enhances are not accepted.
Applicants should also bring any valid ID cards such as company or school ID, driver's license, SSS ID, GSIS, or valid passport.
An examination fee of P350 is also required from applicants. (PIA XI) [top]
