DAR completes 86 percent land distribution in Nueva Vizcaya
Dupax Del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya (8 June) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) here has already completed 86 percent of the targeted land distribution in the province.
"We only have a remaining 86,000 hectares of land to be distributed in the province," Joselito Garcia, provincial agrarian reform officer told PIA.
He also expressed optimism that the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law(CARP) would get an extension for another 5 years so that the remaining lands to be distributed would be fully completed and accomplished.
He said that with the possible extension of the CARP law, DAR will continue to do its share for rural development through their Agrarian Reform Fund and other financial institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
"With the extension of CARP for 5 years, we will sufficiently complete all the necessary requirements needed for the sustainability of our community projects," he said.
Garcia said, farmers in the province are now waiting for the needed support systems from their agency to improve their livelihood in their communities.
"We really hope for the extension of the CARP so that it will be fully fulfilled specially in other provinces where huge lands need to be distributed to farmers," Garcia said. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
