DOST-PAGASA observes TFAW

Davao City (19 June) -- As the lead agency in the National Observance of the Typhoon and Flood Awareness Week (TFAW), the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) is conducting a week long series of activities on June 15-20, 2009.

One of its highlights is the commemoration of TFAW PAGASA Regional Services Division (PSRD) in Davao City. This aims to establish linkages among the disaster managers in the region with the end in view of reducing the effects of typhoon and flood.

With the theme "Bagyo baha ready ka na bro!", DOST-PAGASA will be conducting an Orientation Seminar on the Southern Mindanao (Davao) PAGASA Regional Services Division and Typhoon & Flood Awareness Campaign on June 18, 2009, 8:00AM-12:00PM at the Mindanao Training and Resource Center (MTRC), DMSF Cmpd., Bajada, Davao City.
