Panabo conducts Solid Waste Management Seminar
Panabo City (23 June) -- The Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources headed by Engr. Zoilo Gudin,Jr. conducted a one-day seminar of Solid Waste Management Enforcers Training last June 17,2009 at the ABC Hall of Panabo.
The rationale of the seminar is to facilitate social transformation and a change of attitude of local officials, other stakeholders and the communities in general as well as encourage them to support and commit to the full implementation Solid Waste Management in their areas.
About 60 participants including the barangay sanitary inspectors and barangay kagawad attended the meeting to be aware on the current SWM situation in the city and within their territorial jurisdiction, review on the legal framework and advocate and build alliance for effective management as well a develop workable plans and strategies for its implementation.
Nemesio L. Rasgo, Jr., who is also in the seminar, said "this program is focus for us, ang pinaka sentro ang tibuok katawhan sa Panabo. Kamo ang mahimong instrumento aning programa. It will start to your places considering that you're the cream of the crop in your barangay.
The seminar was discussed in five topics. The Brief Overview on proper solid was management by Eng.Gudin, Health Care Waste Management by Ms Elisa Montilla, Coastal Waste Management & Enforcement by PCI Floriano Rabilo, Prohibited Acts, Penalties & suits, Atty. Gay Peloton and Apprehension & Issuance of Citation Ticket by SPO3 Bernardino Bagaan.
At the end of the seminar the participants were given certificates of their completion and Identification Card to be signed by Mayor Silvosa and Eng. Gudin. Also they are expected to come out an action plan for the implementation of the SWM situation in their respective barangay. (CIO-Panabo/PIA XI) [top]
