Maasin City, Southern Leyte (6 August) -- Provincial and Maasin City officials here offered mass yesterday, August 5, the day former President Corazon Aquino was buried. The mass celebrated by Bishop Precioso D. Cantillas was attended by Provincial and Maasin City Officials led by Gov. Damian G. Mercado and Mayor Maloney Samaco, respectively.
The concelebrated Mass at 8:30 in the morning, 30 minutes before the Requiem Mass for Pres. Aquino at the Manila Cahtedral was held at the Lady of Assumption Parish Cathedral here, participated by at least 6 parish priests throughout the city.

Many of the parishioners who attended wore yellow dresses, though some also dressed either in white or black.
Yellow ribbons surrounding the Maasin cathedral and in the vicinity of the Maasin Parish Convent were seen and a tarpaulin having picture of ex-Pres. Cory was read "Thank you Tita Cory for giving us love and freedon".
