Food terminal boosts ComVal economy
Davao City (13 October) -- Local vendors claim significant increase in sales since the recent completion of the food terminal in Barangay San Ignacio, Manay, Davao Oriental.
The terminal located right in the heart of the community facilitated the formation of the San Ignacio Market Vendors Association and the implementation of new and relevant policies and ordinances that aim to standardize market operations.
The project was implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the Local Government of Manay and the community under the Makamasang Tugon Project.
Since 2003, the Department has implemented 190 community projects such as water systems, roads, bridges, health stations, day care centers in 6 municipalities in Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley through its KALAHI-CIDSS and Makamasang Tugon. (DSWD XI/reyaburgos) [top]
