Army holds medical outreach in Compostela
Camp Kalaw, Monkayo, Compostela Valley (20 October) -- Lt. Colonel Gilbert F Saret commander of the 25th Infantry battalion, lauded the outstanding effort of the Civil Military Operation Company, Alpha Company, 25th IB, and Charlie Company of the 66th IB under the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division on their recently concluded 3rd Medical Outreach Program last Oct. 17, 2009 in Sitio Baclog, barangay Osmena, Compostela, Compostela Valley province.
The said program was spearheaded by the Provincial Health office with the support of the Local Government Official. The said program benefited more or less 490 residents of Brgy. Osmena, Brgy. San Miguel, Compostela and Brgy. Katipunan, New Bataan.
The 2nd Medical Outreach Program was conducted last May 12, this year, in the covered gym of Brgy. Osmena. It benefited more or less 120 families. The 1st Medical Outreach Program was conducted last Jan. 24, 2009 in the covered gym of Brgy. San Miguel benefited by more or less 124 residents.
With the support of the national and the local government units, this will ensure that the basic health services of the local populace will reach the far flung areas and those who are in need. Medical Outreach Program and other community development projects are simultaneously conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines throughout the archipelago.
Various troops from the Civil Military Operation Company, 25th IB and 66th IB - of 10th Infantry (Agila) Division were deployed as Research Team for Peace and Development in the municipalities of Compostela Valley Province to help the Local Government in the conduct of Rapid Need Assessment for projects that will alleviate the living condition of the local populace and ultimately bring development in the area.
