DPWH Tugbok district completes 2 projects
Davao City (27 October) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Davao City Sub-District Engineering Office (DCSDEO) based in Tugbok, this City has completed the Construction/Renovation of DPWH-DCSDEO building and the Construction of Employees Quarter edifice.
The two (2) projects, with an appropriation of Php 5,000,000.00 were started March 19, 2009 and were completed September 14, 2009.
DPWH XI Director Osop L. Ali, who was present during its recent blessing and inauguration, said that "the Sub-District Engineering Office in Tugbok, District III was purposely constructed to effectively cater the immediate needs of the third District without necessarily transacting business at the regional office in R. Magsaysay Avenue, this City.
"We are doing this to address the gaps that hinder developments in the farflung barangays that needs the services of our government, he said.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo wants that our (DPWH) services will go a long way especially to those depressed areas to enable development efforts to prosper, Director Ali said.
The DPWH is expecting that this Sub-Engineering Office in Tugbok spearheaded by District Engineer Gerarda T. Donalvo will lead the development efforts in the third district in as far as infrastructure projects are concerned, he further said.
Together with Director Ali were: ARD for operations, Engr. Rey Tamayo; ARD for Maintenance, Engr. Danny Versola; PRO Boy Dacumos; Erik Lumagsao and Annette Maligad, both of DPWH Information Office; and other personnel of DPWH regional office. (with reports from Aileen Jara, DPWH XI/DCSDEO) [top]
