Agila Battalion initiates CIVAC

By SSg Anthony A Corpuz (Inf) PA

Davao City (7 January) -- While the CPP/NPA continues on their terroristic and criminal activities in the municipality of Baganga, Davao Oriental, the AGILA Battalion under Ltc. Henry Doyaoen INF (GSC) PA initiates Medical and Dental Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) dedicated to the people of Baganga.

On 04 and 07 December 2009, the 67th Infantry (Agila) Battalion, in cooperation with Rural Health Unit of Baganga launched a two days free medical consultation/check-up, and dental treatment/extraction that benefitted 1,316 civilians. A total of 15 boxes of Medicines were provided free to our citizens residing in the said areas.

The successful conduct of MEDCAP was through the help of the provincial government and medical expertise extended by Dr. Violeta Morales, the Municipal Health Officer of Baganga and her medical staffs who are tirelessly devoting their time in attending to patients who came from the far sitios of Brgy Salingcomot and Bobonao.

Before the actual MEDCAP, the Civil Military Operations (CMO) section prepared a film showing followed by info drive on the CPP/NPA's deceptive recruitment of minors and their criminal activities, like, arson, extortion and killing of innocent people.

After the MEDCAP, the residents of Brgy Salingcomot and Bobonao happily went home with sufficient (Full dosage) amount of medicines needed for their illnesses and information about the deceptive nature of CPP/NPA's and their criminal activities. As an eye opener they were well informed on what may become of them and their loves ones should they allow themselves be deceived by these criminals by allowing themselves and their children to be lured to join their criminal syndicate.
