Dumaguete City (16 January) -- Some 20 elementary school teachers from the identified disparity areas under the Sixth Country Programme for Children in Negros Oriental recently completed a two-day course on developing communication plans on education with emphasis on promoting children's rights.
During the workshop which started on January 14, the teachers drew up communication plans as well as developed key messages that will serve as a springboard for the production of information, education (IEC) and communication materials.
Said IEC materials will be distributed in support to the implementation of information campaign activities outlined by the workshop participants in their communication plans in their respective areas.
The communication activities identified by the teacher aims to address the most extensive problems concerning children faced by the education sector in the disparity areas such as child labor, leading to high drop-out rates.
