Panabo mayor turns over jetmatic water pump to barangays

Panabo City (16 January) -- To improve the water system in their respective barangays, the Local Government of Panabo headed by Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. turnovers 25 sets of Jetmatic water pump to the barangay captains last Jan. 11, 2010 at the Lobby New City Hall during the convocation program lead by the Mayor's Office.

During the consultative meeting with the barangays, Mayor Silvosa discovered that these barangays doesn't have a local water provider and had problem in water supply. Some had old jetmatic water pump and deep well as their source of water but unfortunately some produces unsafe drinking water.

Residents recalled that they have to exhaust all their patience before they could fill their pails and buckets because of the long line that awaits them. Even during night time they have to fetch water just to have enough for the next day's needs.

"Since its turnover rites, we are grateful and blessed of this commitment of Mayor and all those sad experiences are just but in the past" declared by a barangay captain Angelita B. Rosel from Brgy. San Nicholas. She added that the much-needed project is in time with the growing barangay population.

Brgy. Capt. Ferdinand G. Gocon, ABC Vice-President, assertedthat sharing and teamwork were very much evident throughout the project implementation. The LGU committed for the projects realization, gave much of its time for the community to have a safe potable water system.

The said jetmatic water pumps were distributed to the barangays namely: J.P. Laurel, Brgy. Lower Panaga, Katipunan, Malativas, San Nicholas, Cagangohan, Waterfall, Brgy. DAPCO, Datu Abdul and Cacao. (Markgellor/Panabo CIO) [top]
