Army accepting new applicants, height limit now 5 ft

Camp Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City (23 January) -- The Philippine Army is now accepting new applicants for officers to be commissioned and Candidate soldiers to be enlisted into the regular force of the Armed Forces.

Registration for the Philippine Army Aptitude Test and Battery (PAATB) for applicants in region 11 and Socsargen area is now ongoing at S.I.R. Bucana, Matina, Davao City which started January 18 until January 27.

Height barrier down to 5ft

Aspiring soldiers who are not so lucky with their height will now have a greater chance of serving the country thru the armed forces as the height limit of five feet and four inches for males; and five feet two inches for females was put to five feet flat for both genders to accommodate small but equally competent applicants.

Qualifications:

For individuals aspiring to be officers thru the Officer Candidate Course and the Officer Preparatory Course, applicants must have a Bachelors Degree in any four year course or higher, must be single and not more than 25 years old.

Applicants for Candidate Soldiers must have 72 units in college (high school graduates may be accepted provided they posses skills needed by the Army), single and must be 18-22 years old before April 1, 2010.

All applicants must bring their birth certificates (National Statistics Office copy), Marriage Contract of parents, Transcript of Records and/or Diploma.

Exam will be on February 2-3, 2010 at the University of Mindanao, Matina, Davao City. (101D) [top]
