Comval 2009 RPT collection reaches P86.6M
Compostela Valley (30 January) -- 2009 Real Property Tax (RPT) Collection of COMVAL Province now reaches 86.6 million pesos due to the new revised revenue code. RPT Collection last 2008 is only 68 million pesos. This was according to COMVAL Provincial Treasurer Carmen R. Razul during the joint meeting of the offices of the Provincial Treasurer and the Assessor, and the 11 Municipal Treasurers and Assessors offices of the province.
The Bureau of Local Government Finance target for Compostela Valley is only 84 million but the actual collection is 86.6 million. It reaches 102% for last year's RPT collection target and the province is hopeful that it will increase up to 92 million by this year.
The implemented Provincial Government Revised Revenue Code is one of the landmark legislation of COMVAL 2nd District Board Member Cesar Richa and is really helpful both in all provincial and municipal government units because all collections reach beyond what is within the target.
Governor Arturo T. Uy is very positive and hopeful that Compostela Valley will become more progressive in the years to come due to the fast revenue collection increase in the province and as well as to all municipalities. This was also realized because of the active implementation of the Code and the unity and support of both government officials and its constituents. (Inday Manugas-IDS Comval) [top]
