Public lectures, food demos set at UP Mindanao

Davao City (17 February) -- Public lectures and food demonstrations mark the third week of UP Mindanao's 15th Anniversary. On Monday, February 15, 1:00 P.M. at the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), UP Mindanao, Mintal, the production of brownies and similar foodstuffs using substitute ingredients such as sago flour will be demonstrated.

On Tuesday, February 16, 10:00 A.M. at the CSM, will be ham-making and similar food products. On Wednesday, February 17, 1:00 P.M. at Administration Building, Mintal, will be food processing of choco-milk and chicken nuggets.

On Tuesday, February 16, 2:30 P.M. at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Audio-visual Room (CHSS AVR) Prof. Jhoanna Cruz-Daliling will talk on "The Role of Dreams in Writing" and Prof. Timothy Montes will talk on creative writing as "A Fine Madness".

Also at the CHSS AVR, social science lectures will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 10:00 A.M. on "Becoming a Man in Davao City " by Prof. Skilty Labastilla and on Wednesday, February 17, 10:00 A.M. on "Mga Babaeng Lumad at Mintal Gym" by Prof. Arve Baņez.

Two lectures will be held on Thursday, February 18, starting at 10:00 A.M. with "Community Initiatives on Environmental Issues" by Prof. Myfel Paluga and at 1:30 P.M., with "Filipino Philosophy and Post-Modernism" by Prof. Raymond Pavo. On Friday, February 19, at 1:00 P.M., at Lorenzo Hall, Adminstration Building, Mintal, Fr.. Albert Alejo S.J. will talk on "People's Platforms for Peace in Mindanao " and Prof. Paluga will talk on "Salient Points and Comments on the recent Policy Paper of the University Network on the Mindanao Question".
