Panabo City intensifies security measures

Panabo City (23 February) -- Public security has direct impact on the growth and development of the city that is why the Local Government of Panabo headed by Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. intensified the security measure through the launching of the first Panabo Advance Security System by using Close Circuit Television (CCTV) on February 15, 2010 at the new city hall building.

The launching was during the Monday Convocation sponsored by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) led by City Local Government Operation Officer, Danilo Hernandez.

The 1.2 million advance security systems are installed at the new city hall building, Panabo City Integrated Bus and Jeepney Terminal, Central and Premium market.

Engr. Dennis Regidor said that thirty two (32) cameras are already operational. They will be used to monitor major thoroughfares to help deter crimes. Videos and still images are transmitted over fiber optic lines to the operation center.

For government establishments, the Local Government of Panabo has the most numbered CCTV cameras in the Region XI and it is the first in Davao del Norte. This prevents and records various cases such as armed robbery, theft and similar criminal offenses in their respective establishments.

The switch on was facilitated by Hon. Roy J. Catalan (SP Chair on Peace and Order) with Hon. Demetrio B. Dolon, Hon. Alan Piedad, Hon Jovito M. Glodo, Hon. Ferdinand A. Gocon, City Administrator Nemisio L. Rasgo Jr., CLGOO Danny Hernandez, PSupt. Alexander Serano Jr. and Fire Marshal Randolf Arbotante, with the presence of the City department heads, LGU employees, men & women in uniform and some visitors. (CIO Panabo) [top]
