Davao City (24 February) -- Conducting a dental and medical mission is seen as the best way of commemorating the 24th People Power Revolution.
Kabisig People's Movement convenor Daniel Guillen, in an interview said the medical and dental services will highlight the People Power commemoration program in Davao City on February 25, Thursday.
"It is a better way of remembering those who fought for freedom and democracy than just mere talk," he said.
"There are many people who are in need of help. What better way to commemorate the occasion is to provide medical services to the least fortunate," he added.
Medical and dental teams of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) together with a team from the Department of Health and private medical volunteers have signified to join the activity.
Held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the outreach activity set at Rizal Park, Davao City will be simultaneously done with a program which will invite officials from the local government of Davao, AFP, and PNP.
Among the speakers are Davao City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte; Major General Carlos Holganza of the 10th Infantry Division; professor Teresita Guillen, former dean of the University of Mindanao; and Efren F. Elbanbuena of the Philippine Information Agency XI.
To enliven the occasion, the AFP and the PNP bands will do musical renditions to entertain the patients, Guillen said.
To add value to the activity, Guillen is organizing an information exhibit which will be joined by national line agencies. (PIA XI) [top]
