Autism spectrum disorder seminar set April 24
Davao City (21 April) -- The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) -Davao Chapter will spearhead a seminar and teaching demo on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on Saturday, April 24 at MIC Cursillo House, Torres St. at 1-5 p.m.
ASP-Davao President Eric de la Costa said the seminar is Part Four of a five-part seminar series which started last January 2010. He said Part Four tackles The Adolescent Life: What We Can Do About It, with topics such as: Autism Spectrum Disorder and the Relationships in Adolescent. Stage; Comparative Program for Each Spectrum; Growth and Development of ASD in Adolescent Life; Hygiene and Health of ASD in Adolescent Life; Sexuality of ASD in Adolescent Life; Behavior Management; Communication, Practical Academics, Pre-vocational and Vocational Program; Social and Recreational Program ?High School and College; and Sensory Integration and Physical Fitness Program.
The upcoming Part Five Seminar will highlight The Adult Life: Sustainability and Independence. Resource person is Special Education specialist Nino Ricky S. Tumadiang. Tumadiang is also coordinator, teacher, consultant and program director on Special Education who has been working for nine years with Persons with ASD, Persons with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and with persons with other related developmental delays.
