Land Registration Authority distributes free land titles in ComVal
Compostela Valley Province (5 May) -- The Land Registration Authority (LRA) in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Registry of Deeds, and the Provincial Government of Compostela Valley gathered the identified land owners/ beneficiaries per municipality at the Provincial Capitol Lobby recently for the distribution of patents/ titles under the "Handog Titulo Program" of the government.
In behalf of Governor Arturo T. Uy who was attending other important appointment that time, the province's Executive Assistant IV Isabelo L. Melendres spearheaded the distribution of the six hundred (600) Titles given away for free to the identified ComVal residents. There was no registration fee required as revealed by Atty. John Paul O. Devilleres, the Register of Deeds for both Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte provinces (A registration fee would cost P300.00 to P1,000.00).
The government through the DENR facilitated the free survey of the lands, for the mother lot only. However, the moment it will be subdivided, the owner/s shall seek assistance of a private surveyor already.
The recipients were further reminded by Atty. Devilleres that they should take care of their respective land titles because if such will be lost, it is quite expensive and takes a lot of processing in acquiring for a new one. It is estimated that a land owner may pay P15,000.00? P20,000.00 for the attorney's fee alone since the process will pass through the court already. (grace almedilla/ids comval) [top]
