Comelec proclaims Davao del Sur newly-elected provincial officials

Davao City (18 May) -- The Commission on Elections Provincial Board of Canvassers in Davao del Sur has proclaimed Friday afternoon Douglas R. Cagas as newly-elect governor and Arsenio A. Latasa as vice-governor of said province.
According to Comelec's Certificate of Canvass of Voters Proclamation of Winning Candidates, Cagas obtained 163,440 votes, while Latasa garnered 171,013 votes.
Earlier on same day, the PBOC headed by Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ma. Febes Barlaan, also declared Franklin P. Bautista as the duly elected Member of the House of Representative for District 2.
Bautista obtained 85,020 votes from eight municipalities of District 2, namely Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos, Kiblawan, Malalag, Malita, Sarangani, Sta. Maria and Sulop.
On May 13, the PBOC proclaimed Marc Douglas Iv C. Cagas as Member of House of Representative for District 1, garnering 110,171 votes.
The young Cagas would be serving the municipalities of Bansalan, Hagonoy, Magsaysay, Matanao, Padada, Sta. Cruz and Digos City.
For the provincial board members, the following were proclaimed as winners: Mercedes C. Cagas, Nonito A. Llanos III, Aileen C. Almendras, Ricardo S. Molina, Jr., Marvin V. Manos, Fatima Grace B. Baliota, Allan G. Colina, Princess Erum M. Parcasio, Isabelo M. Masiwel and Ligaya P. Gealon.
Election Assistant Edgardo Sadili said in a telephone interview that presently, the provincial election office still continues to gather certificates of canvass of votes and proclamation of winners from the municipalities. (PIA-XI) [top]
