Tagum conducts special operation on RA 4136 violators
Tagum City (20 May) -- The Tagum City Traffic Management Unit (TCTMU) in coordination with the Highway Patrol Group of Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office and the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the local government here conducted Special Operations to apprehend violators of RA 4136 known as the "Land Transportation and Traffic Code."
The provisions of this Act shall control, as far as they apply, the registration and operation of motor vehicles and the licensing of owners, dealers, conductors, drivers, and such other matters like No Helmet, Unlicensed Driver, No Plate Number and the popular disconnected muffler (noisy sound) known as "Bora-Bora."
During the four-day operations headed by retired P/INSP. Marcus J. Villanueva of TCTMU, more than one hundred (100) motorcycles where impounded of which all units were sent to the Tagum City Motor pool at Barangay East in Tagum City and in the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office along National Highway.
"All motor vehicles and other vehicles must be registered. No motor vehicle shall be used or operated on or upon any public highway and streets unless the same is properly registered in accordance with the provisions of this Act," Villanueva said. (Edwin & Francis of CIO Tagum) [top]
