Davao Light urges public: Save on electricity
Davao City (29 May) -- Davao Light and Power Company is encouraging its customers to save energy with simple and more practical tips.
orporate Communications Officer Ross Luga said the company finds it important that power users shall be made aware of ways to save on electricity to help reduce demand for power especially at this time when Mindanao is experiencing serious power lack.
"We encourage our customers to use Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) instead of ordinary incandescent bulbs. CFLs are more efficient light source and give better illumination compared to incandescent bulbs with the same wattage rating", Luga said.
Luga added that in time dust accumulates on the lighting equipment, thus, one should regularly clean the lamps or bulbs so these can provide enough brightness.
Another tip, Luga said, is to turn off the light in the room or lavatory when no one is inside or not in use. Appliances, except those that require continuous use such as refrigerators, shall also be unplugged when not in use.
Customers, according to Luga, can find more electrical safety and enercon tips by logging on to Davao Light's website at www.davaolight.com. (DLPC) [top]
