Panabo City prepares for 112th Independence Day celebration

Davao City (1 June) -- Panabo City prepares various activities for the 112th Philippine Independence Day Celebration which started May 28, Flag Day, and will culminate on June 12, 2010.

Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. already sent an encouragement letter to the owners of private and public institution and business establishments to display the Philippine flag in their respective edifices. The display of the national flag will serve as a symbol of freedom, love of country and nationhood of the Filipinos. A directive was also addressed to display the Philippine Flag to all issued government service vehicle taking effect on May 31, 2010.

On May 28, Pambansang Araw ng Watawat or Philippine National Flag Day, the City Tourism Office will have their audio visual presentation of the evolution of the Philippine Flag which will be scheduled on May 31, 2010, Monday, during the convocation lead by the City Treasurer's Office.

Meanwhile on June 12, 112th Independence Day, with the theme: "Bagong Pagsasama, Bagong Bayanihan, Bagong Pagbabago, the activity will start with a Doxology, followed by the Flag raising at the Rizal Park with Rep. Antonio F. Lagdameo, Jr. and Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. The wreath-laying will be done after the flag raising ceremonies and Volley firing by the Panabo City Police.

The commemorative program is scheduled on June 12, 2010 7 o'clock in the morning at the Old City Hall Grounds. (Markgellor - City Information Office) [top]
