Agusan del Norte opens 43rd foundation anniversary celebration

Butuan City (17 June) -- Governor Erlpe John Amante formally opened the celebration of Agusan del Norte's 43rd year of separation from Surigao and Agusan Provinces, in ceremonies held recently at Capitol Covered Court, this city.
The four-day celebration which started Tuesday, June 15, will highlight the State of the Province Address of Governor Amante on Thursday June 17.
A thanksgiving mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Severino S. Diamante, Jr. attended by employees of the province, government line agencies, and officers of different municipalities was celebrated as part of the kick-off activities.
Gov. Amante in his message emphasized the importance of supports and public service of his fellow government employees and leaders.
Amante said year 1967 Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur was separated into two provinces.
Agusan del Norte reminds the progress and developments from former governors, congressman and employees until the time of his term the development and public service continued.
Gov. Amante stressed out his warmest thanksgiving to all sectors of the province down to barangay officials who have shown their dedication and support as a public servant.
Also, the young governor asked cooperation and another full support from leaders to perform to the best of their abilities.
Meanwhile, the cutting of ribbon was conducted by Gov. Amante, Vice Governor Enrico Corvera and SP members to signal the opening of Agro-Industrial Fair featuring Agusan del Norte's products.
The activity is showcasing the viewing of exhibits, presyo diskwento, techno demo, film showing, parlor games and laro ng lahi.
Meanwhile, oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected local officials of the province was conducted.
