Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (August 5) -- Policemen here have recently arrested two drug peddlers in the towns of Bagabag and Solano.
Bagabag town police chief Inspector Joseph Dela Cruz identified the suspect as Philip Luis Esteban, a college student who was caught in the act of selling dried Marijuana leaves weighing more or less 200 grams including plastic wrappers.
Dela Cruz said also recovered from the suspect were six pieces of five hundred peso bills used during the buy-bust operation.
Police arrested the suspect after an unidentified resident earlier tipped Esteban's activities to the police as he was accordingly engaged in selling dried marijuana leaves.
Last week, newly-installed police provincial director Police Senior Supt. Elmer Beltejar vowed to intensify their efforts in curbing out criminalities and illegal activities in the province through community support.
In his statement, Beltejar also vowed to address theft, robbery and other crime-related cases in the province's commercial towns such as in Bambang, Bayombong and Solano.
Beltejar replaced Police Senior Supt. Pedro Danguilan who have just completed his two-year tour of duty in the province.
In Solano town, Police Chief Inspector Marvin Follante also arrested a 17-year old student of barangay Bagahabag for selling Marijuan leaves.
He said Jose Marie Copones yielded one tea bag of Marijuana leaves weighing more or less 8.57 grams and money used during the buy-bust operation.
A follow-up operation by the police also resulted to the arrest of Mark Anthony Lopez, 17 of barangay Quezon in Solano town for possessing 4 tea bags of dried Marijuana leaves weighing more or less 27.03 grams and buy-bust money amounting to P250.00.
Police said Lopez' arrest came after Copones admitted that the illegal drugs were sourced from him. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
