3 nabbed in Davao for drug pushing

Davao City (18 November) -- Three persons were nabbed for drug pushing last week in separate buy-bust operations in two provinces of Davao Region.

Agents from the Davao Oriental Provincial Drug Enforcement Office of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI together with the Provincial Police Office (DOPPO) Provincial Public Safety Company led by PSI Jeffrey Razonable and Mati City Police Station conducted buy-bust operation last November 10, 2010 at around 10:00 p.m. at 17-A, Magsaysay, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

Fish vendor Eddie Labe Salgado a.k.a. Edoy was arrested after selling one sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as "shabu" to the operatives who acted as poseur buyer.

Also recovered from his possession and control were five small packs of suspected marijuana fruiting tops and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was detained at Mati City Police Station, while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory.

Cases were filed against the suspect for violation of the following: Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, the Special Enforcement Group of the Davao del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Office nabbed two men also in a buy-bust operation last November 12 at Brgy. Villarica, Babak of the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte.

Thirty-year old Clark Redulla of Samal conspired with his cohort Midzfar D. Lakibul, 22 years old and a resident of Sasa, Davao City, in selling one piece medium size plastic sachet of suspected shabu worth P12,000 to the PDEA agent who acted as poseur buyer.

Also recovered from their possession and control were one piece P1,000 genuine marked money bill and eleven pieces of P1,000 bills used as buy-bust boodle money.

The suspects were detained at PDEA Regional Office XI jail facility, while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 26 (Conspiracy) Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the suspects.

PDEA-XI officer-in-charge Emerson R. Rosales commends the efforts of the community which resulted to the successful apprehension of the drug perpetrators at their respective place.
