Mt Province SP supports Reproductive Health Bill

Bontoc, Mt. Province (10 October) -- The Reproductive Health Bill pending in Congress has the backing of the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan that passed a resolution supporting its enactment.
The SP chaired by Vice Governor Louis Claver Jr. expressed in its resolution the body's full support and strongly endorsed the passage of the Reproductive House bill if only to protect human dignity and to respond to the health needs and aspirations of the family and children.
In a dialogue with members of the SP, theUnited Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) explained and clarified matters on the importance of the passage of the Reproductive House bill that would protect maternal, infant and child health and nutrition and responds further to the needs and aspirations of the family and children.
The resolution was forwarded to Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Prospero Nograles.
Previous SP members enacted Provincial Ordinance No. 76, s.2007, entitled "Reproductive Health, Responsible Parenthood and Prevention of Abortion Ordinance of Mt. Province," to value, respect and protect human dignity, people's rights and their families. (PIA MP) [top]
