Panibagong Paraan welcomes innovative ideas

By Mai B. Gevera

Davao City (1 December) -- Do you want to put your brilliant ideas into action?

The Panibagong Paraan (Philippine Development Innovation Marketplace) is now accepting innovative ideas to promote "Development with Equity" in the Philippines.

The call for this project was borne out of the need for development with equity especially here in the Philippines since many are excluded from social and economic development because of their disadvantages in terms of income, assets, and opportunities.

Entries may be submitted in the form of policy proposals, essays, poetry, artwork, song compositions or multi-media presentations.

Applicants may come from People's organizations, non-government organizations, private and public research and academic institution, 5th and 6th class municipal LGUs.

Target beneficiaries should belong among the following: indigenous peoples, women, men and youth, elderly, children, persons with disabilities, people living with AIDS, commercial sex workers, farmers and fisherfolk, formal and informal laborers.

Winners of the competition will be provided grant funds of up to P1 million to implement projects over a one-year period.

Finalists will be notified in February 2006 and will be asked to submit full proposals by April 2006 and will be invited to participate in an Exhibit and Social Policy Forum on May 2006.

For further information, please visit website (www.panibagongparaan.com) or contact the Panibagong Paraan Secretariat 2006. (PIA) [top]
