Palace reiterates PGMA cleared on "Hello, Garci"

MANILA (14 December) -- Malacaņang has again restated that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has already been cleared on the "Hello, Garci" issue by the dismissal of the impeachment complaint in the House of the Representatives.

In a press conference, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye reiterated the statement while another voice expert claimed that the voices in the tapes, submitted by former National Bureau of Investigation Deputy Director Samuel Ong, are indeed those of President Arroyo and the election official Virgilio Garcillano.

Bunye, who is also the Presidential Spokesman, stressed that the opposition and their allies were given ample time to substantiate their allegations but they utterly failed to do so.

Hence, he pointed out, the opposition must graciously accept defeat and put the issue to rest so that the Filipino people can unite the nation behind economic takeoff. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
