Senate President graces the 7th ATOP Nat’l gab in South Cotabato

Lake Sebu (16 October) -- Senate President Manuel Villar graced the culmination day of the 7th ATOP National Convention held at this scenic municipality, which is the prime tourist destination of the province.

Villar was the keynote Speaker during the luncheon hosted by Governor Daisy P. Avance-Fuentes, which was attended also by municipal mayors and other elected officials of the province.

Lake Sebu Mayor Basilio Salif formally welcomed Villar and the delegates who enjoyed an eco-tour of his municipal especially in its prime resorts namely; Punta Isla Lake Resort, Estares Resort and Mountain Log Resort.

Villar praised the tourism officers for being a partner in the development of our country. He added that more provinces, cities and municipalities are benefiting from tourism, which is why local chief executives are appointing their respective tourism officers to attend the needs of this vibrant industry.

A cultural presentation by the T’boli Performing Arts added color to the occasion that also awed the delegates, while enjoying their lunch of native cuisine especially Lake Sebu’s famous “tilapia”. Tropical fruits were likewise served to the guests.

The Lake Sebu Municipal Gymnasium was also the venue of ATOP’s election of its new set of officers for 2007-2008. (FCS/PIA 12) [top]
