150 Gawad Kalinga houses to be built in Nueva Vizcaya town
QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya (17 October) -- Some 150 houses will be built in this town for victims of typhoons which ravaged the province recently, local officials here said.
Councilor Wilfredo Pulido, Gawad Kalinga municipal coordinator, said a 5-hectare lot has been allotted for indigent villagers in barangay Aurora which will accommodate 150 houses.
"We are currently working for its leveling works and sooner, the construction of housing units will start," Pulido said.
The houses were part of the commitment by the Gawad Kalinga Foundation which seeks to build more than 1000 houses in the province.
GK sites have been established in the towns of Dupax del Norte, Bambang, Solano and Diadi which benefited more than 300 families.
At present, there are already more than 80 Gawad Kalinga houses built within the identified GK sites in the province while 40 housing units are under going construction, according to Willy Delizo, provincial GK volunteer. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
