NVizcaya hospital employees appeal for additional buildings
BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (19 October) -- "With the onset of the rainy season, coupled by the chilling cold weather in the province, hospital officials here have expressed concern over the increasing number of patients needing medical accommodation.
Margarita Dumlao, administrative officer of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital(NVPH) in barangay Almaguer North here said they could no longer accommodate patients needing medical attention since their hospital is already full.
"Even our isles are now occupied by patients and we can no longer accommodate others. We are appealing for the patients' understanding," Dumlao told PIA.
The NVPH, she said is only a 62-bed hospital which she said needs to be developed by the construction of additional buildings to house more patients most specially in this season.
Dumlao said the patients who were confined at the NVPH were suffering from upper respiratory infections, dengue, typhoid, hypertension, fever cases, OB cases and urinary tract infection cases. Most of the illnesses, she said were attributed to the onset of the rainy and cold weather in the province.
According to Dumlao, they are still waiting for the construction of additional building which was earlier committed by governor Luisa Lloren Cuaresma to house more patients within the hospital.
'We should have at least 100 to 150 beds inorder to accommodate the yearly influx of patients during this period," she said. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
