NVizcaya police uproot marijuana plants

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (26 October) -- Police authorities recently uprooted at least three fully grown marijuana leaves inside a residence in barangay Bonfal West here.

Police inspector Joselito Lasam of the provincial police office said the marijuana plants which is more than 6 feet and weighs more than 2 kilos were discovered and uprooted inside the backyard of a certain Alex Talleda and Bernard Cacal who were reported to have been cultivating the prohibited plant.

The successful joint operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Provincial Mobile Group(PMG) of the police provincial office here was supported by a search warrant issued by judge Paul Atolba of the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) of this town in coordination with local officials.

Talleda who was called by the police denied any involvement in the incident saying his house has been abandoned for a long time, according to Lasam.

The uprooted marijuana plants were submitted to the crime laboratory for testing before the filing of the appropriate case in court against the suspects. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
