TESDA releases allowance, stipends for Cagayan scholars
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (13 November) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently released 170 checks covering stipends and allowance for their scholars in Cagayan province, officials here said.
Concepcion Munar, TESDA supervising technical education and skills development specialist said the checks were given to the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) scholars.
The checks, Munar said were divided into the following scholars: 83 for private education student fund assistance, 50 for Cagayan TESP and 37 for technical education and skills development project-special fund.
The grantees, she said were equitably distributed among the three congressional district of Cagayan province based on population and the provincial skills priority programs.
"the awarding of checks depends on the submission of requirements by the schools where the scholars study. The earlier the documents and requirements are submitted, the faster TESDA can prepare the checks," Munar said.
The TESDA scholarship invites high school graduates who are interested to pursue technical courses. The applicant must have at least an average of 80 percent from his or her rating card.
The scholar must choose only one technical course and does not change nor transfer to other school while maintaining his rating until she or he finishes the course. (PIA-NVizcaya) [top]
