NFA to set up additional Bigasan ng Bayan in Nueva Vizcaya
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (October 1) -- The National Food Authority (NFA) here said they will put up additional Bigasan ng Bayan(BnB) outlets in the province to bring cheaper rice to the remote areas.
Antonio Panganiban, NFA provincial manager, said that the additional BnBs will complement the existing 9 BnBs in the province located along the public market of the various municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya.
He said the additional BnBs will be put up in the towns of Sta. Fe, Kasibu, Kayapa, Ambaguio and Alfonso Castaneda.
The additional BnBs will serve as rice outlets, offering imported rice from Vietnam which is sold at P19.00 to P25.00 a kilo.
Panganiban also said their move to set up additional BnBs was earlier requested by Representative Carlos Padilla to equally bring cheaper, quality and affordable rice to the poor indigenous communities of the province. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
