by Vency D. Bulayungan

KIANGAN, Ifugao (29 October) -- In line with the national government program of eliminating hunger, the municipal government thru the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) distributed vegetables seedlings to all schools here.

Letty Senal, Agriculture Technician said the MAO targeted school children and barangays in an effort to improve their health conditions in order to eradicate malnourished cases.

"The kids and families who are beneficiaries of this program of the government will plant the seedlings in the school campus and in their backyards, "Senal said. In this way, they will be able to have enough supplies of vegetables which will improve their health condition she added.

Senal said that Bolog Elementary School requested for banana tissue culture to be planted in their school grounds.

With the theme Programang Agricultura Para sa Masa Tungo sa Malusog na Mamamayan, Senal said that the activity will soon be a contest among schools and barangays.
