AgSur Child-Minding Center construction finished

AGUSAN DEL SUR (November 19) -- P5-M worth Child Minding Center is finished after five months of rigid construction.
Josefina Bajade, Provincial Social Welfare Officer-Designate said the Center will cater children aging 0-3 years old who has either no "yayas" or guardians at home or the working parents who don't have a trusted persons to look after their kids.
She said that parents will be assured when they drop in their kids for the day since the Center staff will undergo a rigid training on child care and development.
However, Ms. Bajade said it is not yet operational until next year because of financial constraints. She said that as of this year, the provincial government has no budget yet to hire new employees or to buy for the needed facilities.
Vice Gov. Santiago Cane, Jr said that UNICEF encouraged local government units to have a Child-Minding Center so that working lactating mothers can still be productive without neglecting the duty of breastfeeding their kids.
Engr. Pamela Yucosing, Provincial Engineer, said that the project was started on 10 May this year and finished on 31 October the same year. She added that it has a floor area 177.75 sq.m. and has eight to ten -children capacity.
She said the Minding Center has one master bedroom for the trained guardians, two separate rooms for boys and girls, one guest room and one learning center or play area. She also said that it has two comfort rooms for males and females, laundry area and kitchen. (PIA-Agusan del Sur) [top]
