DTI sets seminar for would-be businessmen

by Jemin B. Guillermo

Roxas City (5 March) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to hold a two-day seminar for business operators and would-be businessmen.

Provincial Director Rebecca Rascon of DTI Capiz said that the activity, scheduled on March 11 to 12 in Roxas City, is a seminar on Customer Acquisition and Retention.

According to her, they have hired Engineer Abner Villahermosa, a business consultant from the Philippine Trade Training Center, as the resource speaker to the said seminar.

The two-day activity will include the topics of customer dynamics, customer acquisition, customer development, marketing principles, customer retention and customer service.

Customer acquisition and retention are important issues for any company in the present time, Rascon explained, pointing out that customer acquisition is the process of obtaining new customers and/or converting prospects to customers.

On the other hand, customer retention is the process of keeping, sustaining, and/or growing the relationship of the customer with a company and its products and services, she said.

Rascon said that DTI here will shoulder the cost of training expenses, however, they will charge each participant with a P600.00 as registration fee that would cover the cost of lunch and snacks for the duration of the training.

She said that for interested applicants, they may confirm their attendance before March 7 at telephone number 6211151. (PIA) [top]
