RDC 8 searches for 2008 Best RDC member website
Tacloban City (July 5) -- The Search for the Best Regional Development Member Website is now ongoing, NEDA Director Buenaventura Go-Soco Jr., RDC Vice Chair informed.
Director Go-soco disclosed that the contest and the monitoring for the Best Website has started on July 1 and will end on October 31, 2008.
The contest will be conducted based on the three categories of RDC Membership: the Regional Line Agencies, the local government units, and the Private Sector Representatives.
The websites will be judged according to several criteria to include design, functionality, content originality, professionalism and effectiveness.
The judging will be conducted by a Committee composed of 1 Student Council Representative, 1 Computer Science students representative and a representative from the Leyte Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Director Go-Soco added.
The winning members, Director Go-soco said, will be awarded with plaques of appreciation, in a ceremony coinciding with the 4th RDC meeting of the year tentatively scheduled on November 14, 2008.
The conduct of the Search for Best RDC Website for 2008 is in accordance with RDC 8 Resolution No. 09 series of 2008.
The project aims to sustain the gains of the EV Online Project which started in 2007, especially on the sharing of information about the Region in the world-wide web.
It also hopes to upgrade the status of the RDC member websites to world class status and to encourage RDC/SecCom members to aim for the best in their websites.
Director Go-soco informed that with the implementation of the EV Online Project in 2007, 38 RDC members' websites were developed and 46 websites are now being hosted by EVISNet.
Although the websites were developed by a single web designer, the idea and concept of the website design came from the suggestion of the RDC/SecCom members.
Although EV Online made suggestions on what data to put in their respective websites, several agencies provided data which were not included in the list, Director Go-Soco further said. (PIA 8) [top]
