NVizcaya prosecutor laments dismissal of drug cases
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (18 July) -- A provincial prosecutor here has expressed disgust over the dismissal of many drug cases lodge before their office in the province.
Provincial prosecutor Edilberto Calip said most drug cases have been dismissed because of the absence of policemen during hearings.
"These cases are dismissed because policemen who serve as witnesses do not appear in courts," Calip said during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting here.
Police Chief Inspector Primitivo Barongan, officer-in-charge of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for Cagayan Valley said a case can be filed against these policemen for failing to appear and testify in courts.
"If this is the case, then we can file cases against them," Barongan responded. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
