NBI warns public vs illegal recruiters

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (18 July) -- Officials of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have warned public here over the proliferation of illegal recruiters in the province.

Alberto Gaerlan, executive officer of the NBI district office here said illegal recruiters at present use cellphones and the internet to lure victims specially Novo Vizcayanos.

"Their recruitment scheme is becoming personal and we cannot control this," Gaerlan said during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting here.

He said the victims are usually advised to travel to Metro Manila upon completion of their requirements where they are asked to pay the financial requirement.

Gaerlan said he raised the issue in response to the increasing complaints on illegal recruitment incidents in the province.

"We should be aware of our hard-earned money. The public should be vigilant and not to be easily convinced," he added.

Gaerlan said there is a need to address the illegal recruitment incidents by concerned government agencies to safeguard the public from being lure into the illegal trade. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
