Vigan cops cited for arrest of robbery syndicate members

Vigan City (October 10) -- Newly-installed Ilocos region police director, Chief Superintendent Luizo C. Ticman commended Wednesday the Vigan City police force headed by Chief Inspector Maximo A. Taclas for the successful arrest of the six members of a big time robbery hold -up and salisi gang syndicate operating in Northern Luzon in an entrapment operations over the weekend here.

"The performance of our policemen in Vigan City leading to the arrest of the members of the robbery syndicate is very much commendable," Ticman said in a press conference in the provincial police office initiated by Ilocos Sur police director, Senior Superintendent Virgilio G. Fabros, last Wednesday.

Ticman visited the province of Ilocos Sur as part of his routine activity in monitoring the peace and order situation of the Ilocos region province.

It was recalled that policemen led by Chief Inspector Taclas with the cooperation of the civilian, the were able to arrest the following members of the robbery hold-up and salisi gang syndicate operating in Northern Luzon. They were identified as Vergel Ramos Y Menesses, 31, of 288 Tuazon Street; Arnold Gavallo Y Parena, 40, of 231 Mabagos Street; Gloria Tagudin Y Libid,49, of 1240 Sto. Nino Street Moryones; Jennifer Lago Y De Guzman, 30, of 1327 Masinoc, Moryones; Jerry Sese Y Lopez, 39, of 1240 Sto. Nino, Moryones; and Melinda Zuisin Y Fernandez, 63, of Zabala Street; all in Tondo, Manila.

Taclas said the arrested suspects were figured in various robbery incidents in Metro Vigan in the past weeks.

This developed when the victims positively identified the arrested suspects as the one who robbed them. (PIA Ilocos Sur) [top]
