DOH-12 implements health emergency management

Cotabato City (15 October) -- The Department of Health Region XII (DOH-12) has been continuously giving assistance to the victims of conflict-affected areas who are still in evacuation centers

Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director, Dr. Abdullah Dumama said that they are constantly monitorins the conflict-affected areas and identifying the families being affected in and out of the evacuation centers. DOH-12 has sent health engineering teams to assess and provide their needs especially in terms of health services.

In line with this, DOH-12 remains focus on implementing their disaster Health Emergency Management wherein, aside from monitoring the affected areas, they also give counseling or psycho-social debriefing to said families in coordination with other government agencies like DSWD, DepEd, LGU,s and Central Mental Health Program of DOH central office.

In addition, Dumama disclosed that DOH is giving logistical support to the military hospital hospital at Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Shariff Kabunsuan Province. In fact, he said, DOH-12 had already given fifteen (15) brand new mechanical hospital beds and one technical support staff in upgrading the hospital.

Among the onflict-affected areas being served by DOH 12 are Pigcawayan, Midsayap. Aleosan and Pikit in North Cotabato. (RICC Cotabato City) [top]
