5th CRG Commander emphasizes law enforcement operations vs Kato and Bravo
Cotabato City (28 October) -- A Civil Relations Service (CRS) official in Mindanao reiterated that the on going law enforcement operations are directed against Kato and Bravo and that there is no need to declare a ceasefire with the MILF because it remains in effect.
This is the pronouncement of Major Medel Aguilar, 5th Civil Relations Group Commander Civil Relations Service based in Panacan, Davao City to the call of the National Interfaith Humanitarian Mission led by BAYAN and other left leaning organization calling for a stop of the law enforcement operation against Ameril Umbra Kato.
Major Aguilar commented that to make the call more acceptable to the other religions people who were part of the mission, they termed the law enforcement operations as "war."
It can be recalled from the very start these organizations were opposed to the military operations against Kato and Bravo for unexplained reasons. We can only suspects that this effort could be a part of that so called alliance between the MILF and CPP/NPA/NDF, he continued.
The 5th CRG commander went on to say that these organizations are singing the same song with borrowed credibility from unsuspecting allies.
While they have the guts to call for the termination of military operations against Kato for the sake of temporary peace, they continue to refuse to look on and hear from the side of those whose lives were ruined by the savagery of the two rogue MILF commanders, Major Aguilar pointed out.
Our position is anchored on justice and lasting peace which the National Interfaith Humanitarian mission refused to see. The NIHM failed to present to the Filipino people what has happened and what is actually happening in Central Mindanao, the CRS official concluded. (PIA 12) [top]
