2,000 cooperators jampack 1st Philippine Coop Teamshop
General Santos City (28 October) -- There was no stopping the 2,000 cooperators who attended the just concluded 1st Philippine Cooperative Teamshop held at the fully-air conditioned Lagao Gymnasium here Friday despite the ongoing armed skirmishes in other parts of Central Mindanao.
The success of this gathering was attributed to the combined efforts of the city government headed by Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr., Rep. Darlene A. Custodio, the City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC), Regional Cooperative Development Council (RCDC) and the National Cooperative Development Council (NCDC).
Keynote Speaker was Rozzano Rufino Biazon, congressman of the Lone District of Muntinlupa City. Other guests were Hon. Sec. Lecira V. Juarez of the Cooperative Development Administration and Hon. Rosalinda E. Villaseca, Administrator of CDA.
According to Mr. Arthur Aller, chairperson of NCDC, the Teamshop was successful with the attendance of NCDC officers from regions 9, 10, 11, 12, and Caraga and delegates from these regions and SOCSKSARGEN.
Other delegates who attended were those from the Cordillera Administrative Region, said Aller.
Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr., welcomed the NCDC initiative as another milestone for the city's cooperative growth and development.
Also present were Director Abusama Alid of the Department of Agriculture Region XII, Director Orlando Ravanera, CDA Regional Director of Region 10, Hon. Fulgencio Vigare, CDA Administrator, and other city officials. (CPIO/PIA SarGen) [top]
