DOLE Ifugao ensures globally competitive workforce

Lagawe, Ifugao (10 September) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is ensuring a globally competitive workforce by equipping workers with demand-driven skills, technical education and productivity improvement technology.
DOLE Provincial Director Dr. Alexander Gumabol, said that the department with the assistance of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority conduct skills competency, productivity trainings and technical vocational education service.
He also disclosed that the DOLE is doing its best to secure the workforce by ensuring fair and just terms and conditions of employment, both local and overseas.
Gumabol said that most of the complaints lodged in their office include the issue on wages wherein employers here provide lower wages than what is required by law.
Gumabol added that their office is also promoting access of workers in specific sectors to health care, social security and housing as well as the overseas workers. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
