Aguinaldo, Ifugao (1 May) -- To increase the revenue collection of the municipality, the Local Government Unit (LGU) has recently required communication facilities and gadgets owners operating here to pay annual fees.
The antenna/tower fee imposes an annual fee for the operation and maintenance of all commercial cell sites, antenna, towers and other telecommunication relay station facilities within the municipality of Aguinaldo.
Communication companies with cell sites and relay stations will pay an annual fee of P150,000, antennas or base towers for UHF, VHF or disks for transmitters and receivers will pay P45,000 while for citizen's band radio is P12,000.
However, exempted from the annual fees are facilities that are owned or used by the government being established in the municipality.
To check if the communication facilities are paying their annual fee properly, a committee composed of the Municipal Engineer, Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDC), Municipal Treasurer and the local police have been tasked to survey the number of towers, antennae and discs for the effective implementation of the ordinance.
Aguinaldo is a third class municipality. It is considered as a strategic place for the installation and operation of repeater/transmitter facilities of communication companies. It also hosts some of the private communication companies. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
