Election office urges candidates to submit certificate of expenditures, contributions

by MG Edale, Jr

Cauayan City, Isabela (June 9) -- More than three weeks after the just conducted national and local elections, the city election office here has called on all candidates who ran last May 10, 2010 elections to submit a Certificate of Expenditures and Contributions.

City Election Officer Efigenia Marquez reminded both the winning and losing candidates to accomplish a CECC and submit to her office as post-election requirement as provided for under Republic Act 9006 otherwise known as the "Fair Election Act".

As of press time, Mrs. Marquez said that there were only thirteen (13) candidates who have submitted their CECCs and her office has urged other candidates to also submit even those that lose in the last election.

"All local candidates should submit their respective CECCs to our office as required by election laws", Marquez said.

Marquez's office is open Monday to Friday to receive the CECCs from all candidates who ran last election in the city. (PIA Isabela) [top]
