Talalora PNP neutralizes amok

Catbalogan, Samar (11 November) -- Talalora police are grappling with a case of a man who ran amuck that wreaked havoc in this coastal town.
According to a Samar Police Provincial Office report, one Romeo Macasuse, a farmer and a resident of Barangay Placer, due to unknown reason, while armed with a bolo (locally known as sundang) and sickle (garab) started striking all living things that come his way.
Macasuse mortally wounded three pigs and tried to chase tanod Marcelo Versoza who tried to pacify him.
The wild-hacking suspect caused fear among the locals that classes were suspended and the police beckoned to neutralize Macasuse.
As wont a team of PNP elements together with Barangay Chairman Jojo Zeta tried to reason out with the suspect, but he was beyond reason and tried to hack one of the responding PNP elements, named SPO 2 Danny Laude, as Laude parried the blow, he fell to the ground and shot the assailant with his M16 rifle.
The shot neutralized Macasuse but caused his death.
