San Pablo announces activities for 16th coconut festival in January 2011

Calamba City (9 December) -- The 16th Coconut Festival and Fair to be slated from Jaunary 8 to 15, 2011 in San Pablo City is going to be more colorful, environmental-friendly, abundant and merrier, this was the announcement of Mayor Vicente B. Amante and City administrator Loreto S. Amante, honorary chairman and over-all chairman respectively of the Coconut Festival and Fair 2011.

City Administrator Amante enumerated the different activities in the eight-day celebration that include: Search for Pinaka-Bibong Bata, United Pastoral Council Night (Jan. 8); SM City San Pablo Mall Day, DepEd & SK night, Laguna Fashion Designers' Assn. Fashion Show, Showbands/Artists, Fireworks Diplay (Jan. 9); ABS-CBN Umagang Kay Ganda, City Plaza Fashion Show and Battle of the Bands (Jan. 10); First Cocostar 2011 Personality and Talent Search, Munting Mutya at Lakan Coronation Night (Jan. 11).

Interpretative Dance Contest and Lakan at Mutya Coronation Night (Jan. 12); Coco Carnival Queen, Float Parade, Street Dancing Competition and San Miguel Night (Jan. 13); Cocofest Street Dancing Showdown, TESA/PRISEA Night and Governor's Night (Jan. 14); and the activities for the last, January 15, include: Brass Band Competition, San Pablo Cathedral, Mayor's and Congresswoman's Night, Sponsor's Night and culminated by a fireworks display at 7 pm.
